Passport 2 Purity {Giveaway}

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Today I just want to share with you this really neat getaway kit, called Passport 2 Purity, from Family Life that puts an emphasis on teaching your preteen about dating and purity.

This little kit is packed with information to help you guide your preteen into making wise decisions about the opposite sex, while also learning more about them and their peers.

It comes with a “tour guide” for the parent that gives detailed instructions or directions on how to lead the study. It’s hands on in its approach with projects for visual illustrations and object lessons.

The lessons included in this kit are:

  • Beginning the Journey – issues your child may begin facing as the teenage years unfold
  • Running With the Herd – identifying their peers and their influence
  • Ready for an Upgrade? – puberty
  • Destination: Le Pure – purity
  • Crossing the Date Line – moving into dating and how to keep it godly

There is also a student journal for your child to take notes and/or write down their thoughts as you discover things throughout the weekend.

This kit is meant to be treated as a serious milestone in your child’s life, because, well, it is. I was never taught any of this stuff growing up so it’s a real gift to have some guidance in teaching my own children.

I’m offering a kit in the giveaway, so if you entered the giveaway yesterday, you’re set to go! If you haven’t entered the giveaway, it’s really easy. All you have to do is “like” my new Facebook page. And add your entry below. {You can like through the rafflecopter and not have to leave my blog}.

Everyday Joy {with giveaway}

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

For those of you who don’t know, I adore DaySpring and (In)courage and everything they stand for. They are real and facilitate real community for women.

And I can’t pass up an opportunity to share some wonderful product with you….

Reads: "You have filled my heart with greater joy. Psalm 4:7"

…and of course offer my readers a giveaway so they can choose their favorite product. :)

These, of course, stuck out at me because of the reminder to have everyday joy; and a great reminder of where my joy comes from. Not my circumstances or my ability to “muster up the right feelings”, but from God and Him alone.

These are tools, not necessitites. They are lovely gifts as either a helpful reminder for yourself (of I which I need constant help with), or for a friend (it’s always nice to give to others, isn’t it?)

Today only, the Everyday Joy set (shown above) and the other collections (as individual pieces–yes you can mix and match) are buy 2 get 1 free.

I’ll be hosting an (in)RL meetup here at my home on April 28th. It’s highly probable I will be handing these out as door prizes.

For those of you who don’t live near me…I encourage you to find a meet up or be courageous and host one! :) I thought about hosting goodies here on Joyful Mothering for that weekend, but really – that would defeat the purpose! ;)

If you haven’t heard about (in)RL, find out more details here.

What’s in the Bible? and Because I {Heart} You

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Winner: Jennifer Freeman

It’s th at time of year when we are out shopping for our children, hopefully trying to find resources that are useful for them and offer growth.

You may see me share a few posts with ideas of excellent gift ideas for your children. These will not be just “any thing”. They are resources that have been used and loved by my own children and have been proven to be beneficial for them–not merely a mindless activity.

Today I wan to share with you, from the maker’s of Veggie Tales, Phil Visher’s new series “What’s in the Bible?“. Raise your hand if you’ve ever heard of it?

Good.

For those of you who haven’t, let’s start by letting this clip speak for itself. This clip is from the Christmas edition that just came out. It is filled with facts about the origin of Christmas — but never in the show does it ever choose a “Santa Christmas” or a “Jesus Christmas” as being the “right” Christmas. Take a look: {click here if you are viewing this in your email}:

This clip is about 5 minutes:

Want more? This clip is about 30 minutes {hint– grab your kiddos to watch with you}:

Each DVD runs $14.99. There are 6 DVD’s in the set so far, plus the Christmas DVD.

We are giving an exclusive offer for the 6 DVD bundle plus the Christmas DVD as a bonus,  for a mere $37.95. That’s over a $66 savings, making each DVD less than $5.50!!

The large button on my side bar will take you to their website. It is only through this link (and the large button on my sidebar) that this offer is made possible. You will not find it on their site whatsinthebible.com.

*Please note this does not include shipping & handling.

Now, before you write me off as trying to make a sales pitch, hear me out. :) If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you probably know me better then this. But if you’re still skeptical, allow me to share my heart?

First, as is stated in my disclosure policy, I will not share anything on this blog that I don’t already use and love–or that my children don’t use and love. I will never post random products or resources here just to make a buck. That’s not part of the goal or vision of Joyful Mothering.

Second, I recently changed my disclosure policy. Here’s how it works. Joyful Mothering does share affiliate links. Every post is labeled that has an affiliate link (including this one). The ads on my sidebar are also affiliate links.

A large portion of the money that is made from those links goes right back into Joyful Mothering–some of it is hosting and domain fees, but most of it, goes right back to you.

Part of my vision for this blog is to help equip mothers with materials to help disciple their children, and themselves. Up until now, all the resources have been sponsored by companies — and I will continue to host sponsored giveaways.

But now I am offering giveaways paid for by the money made from the affiliate links–these would be Joyful Mothering sponsored resources. So anytime you click and purchase from an affiliate link on this blog, the majority of that money goes into resources that are given away right here..  And sometimes? It goes to charities such as Compassion International or The Mercy House (and check out their awesome store – all proceeds go to The Mercy House).

Giveaways here are typically not heavily advertised and in fact will probably be less so, because I don’t want people coming to Joyful Mothering just to get free stuff. The “free stuff” is meant for my readers– YOU. So please, feel free NOT to share with everyone that Joyful Mothering gives away all kinds of goodies. Rather, share with a mom in need if there is an article here that might help encourage her. Hopefully she will feel at home here and then will get in on the freebie goodness, too. :)

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Having said all that, I’m offering a What’s in the Bible BUNDLE to a random lovely here, sponsored by me, because I heart you. Sound good?

UPDATE: What’s In the Bible offered to sponsor this giveaway! That just means I can use that money to offer another giveaway next week! I’m thinking a cute collection of DaySpring goodies. :D

All you need to do is leave a comment sharing what you can do this Christmas season to celebrate Christ in a unique way.

This giveaway will run through Sunday and a winner will be posted on Monday morning. Be sure to leave your email so I can contact you.

I’m taking the majority of the week off from writing this week, but will be back Friday with another fun giveaway! :)

New here? Would love to have you keep up with posts! Feel free to subscribe and receive updates to your in box!

Activate Thanksgiving (with a DaySpring Giveaway}

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Thanksgiving: an expression of thanks, especially to God (dictionary.com).

Wow. That’s interesting. The word thanksgiving is set apart in the dictionary for being particular to God.

‘Tis the season, right? But let’s not write it off so flippantly. This is a great opportunity for us to really dig into living a life of gratitude; of thanksgiving.

It’s not just about being thankful for our family and friends, our food and shelter. Those are important, but let us look beyond that–into the depths of living. Into the details of life around us. And not just for what we see as “good”.

Thanksgiving is the evidence of our acceptance of whatever He gives. Thanksgiving is the manifestation of our Yes! to His grace.

Thanksgiving is inherent to a true salvation experience; thanksgiving is necessary to live the well, whole, fullest life.

~One Thousand Gifts

Job rebukes his wife after she scolds him for not cursing God due to his troubles:

He replied, ‘You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?’

God is still God whether He is blessing us or not. Is He still not due thanks? Strip away all we have and He is still worthy of thanks.

Ever Grateful Fabric- 50% off

How much more should we live a life of thanksgiving with all He has given us?

DaySpring has a beautiful line called the “Ever Grateful Collection“.

Ever means at all times or continuously. Isn’t that just so fitting?

50% off making it only $12.50!!!

Let’s use Thanksgiving–the one time a year holiday–as a day set apart to celebrate God in a BIG way. We can use this day to form a new, but meaningful, tradition.

To begin a life of thanksgiving.

To be ever grateful—for everyday.

You can also use this time as a renewal of continuing on in the life of gratitude. Include your husband, include your children. Challenge your extended family to take a closer look at what they’ve been given. And together? Celebrate God!
