My Book List for 2013 – January

So, rather than spending several hours compiling all the books I’d love to read in 2013, which could very well change and expand as new titles come out or are introduced to me, I thought it best just to list several books per month that I’d like to get through reading. I’ll list those I’m currently reading in the sidebar. You’ll find my writing books listed in the sidebar at my other blog.

Here are my titles for January:

Reading through this for the second time (psst…book club details on this coming Monday!)

A book recommended for those adopting:

Have heard great things about this book:

And of course some books on writing:

A little inspiration…

Watch next month for a list of new books! I’ll put the graphic from the top of this post to link to all my monthly book posts so you can easily access them throughout the year.

What are you reading this year? This month?

  1. Fun! I should do this, too!

  2. Wow… that is a lot of books. Do you honestly expect to read those? There is no tone in this question… I am very keen to know if this is a hope list, or a real expectation. When do you read and how much do you read a day. I love the idea of just setting a monthly goal instead of a yearly – I have never reached my yearly goals – new books always interrupt me!

    • Yes, I can read these in a course of a month. I read quickly and set aside specific times for reading each day.
I find time to read during my children’s own quiet reading time and in the evenings as I don’t watch much television on a regular basis. I aim to spend 30-60 minutes a day reading. Usually it’s broken up into 30 minute increments. :)

  3. I am currently reading “How Starbucks Saved My Life” the title caught my eye on the “New Titles” section in our local library. I just finished “A Year Of Learning Dangerously” although the author and I do not agree on a lot of faith issues, I did find myself laughing out loud at all the other homeschooling kids issues we do have in common.

    • The Modern Mrs. Blog says:

I read “How Starbucks Saved My Life” too. Great book. I love the life lessons learned from his experience. Made me appreciate my chai tea even more.

  4. I LOVE a Circle of Quiet. Pretty much anything by Madeline L’Engle is amazing. I’ve also been wanting to read Loving Your Children on Purpose. Currently I’m reading Don’t Waste Your Life with a high school gal from my church, and Real Food.
