Roots

Roots must go deep to establish depth. They must wind down and through watering and being fed in order to reach a place that is rich and life-giving.

I want to establish such roots for my children as they grow up in my home. My home is the pot and I must fill it with rich soil in order for them to have a good beginning. To keep them growing, they must be fed life-giving water so they don’t dry, wither, and cease to thrive.

The living water is Christ, the food is His word, and the sun His strength. Establishing deep roots is to establish deep faith; deep relationship with God. One not easily swayed by the world and it’s lusts.

  1. I love your analogy with a plant. You are planting roots for your children in the Word. I get to work in a school with 3-4 year old children and they love to see how plants grow. What an amazing lesson to learn about true roots.

    Blessings and love,

This was the direction that I had to follow too, Christin! Thank you for a great post!

  4. So glad you joined up again. What a beautiful image. Max always pretends we are planting seeds and he is a growing flower after each bath (weird, I know). Now I have something else to build on. Thank you.
